Questions parents ask
Which 11+ test is it for?
English and Maths are in nearly every 11+ test, and Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning are in many, including Kent, Buckinghamshire and Lincolnshire. If your child's test has no reasoning, switch it off in Settings. The new Gloucestershire FSCE test is different again, so it has its own version: 11+ For Gloucestershire FSCE.
How does it decide what to practise?
From your child's own answers. Each day it picks one subject and one skill, choosing between the questions they got wrong last time, skills they have not tried yet, and skills they have not practised for a few weeks. After the first few days, it says why on the screen. Words and spellings come back at spaced intervals so they stick, and a question your child gets wrong comes back until they get it right. It gets sharper the more they practise: in the first weeks it mostly spreads practice across the skills, and the weak spots show once there is enough practice to be sure of them.
How long does it take each day?
About ten minutes. Sessions are short on purpose, so practice fits a weekday evening and happens most days, rather than a long block at the weekend that is easy to skip.
When should my child start?
Most families start 11 plus preparation in Year 4 or Year 5. Short daily practice works best with a few months to build up, so six months or more before the test is ideal. If the test is closer than that, it still helps: the Today screen goes to the skills your child finds hardest.
What do I see as a parent?
Which days your child practised, which skills they have covered, how accurate they are by subject and skill, and where they keep going wrong once there is enough practice to show it. You can see what happened without asking.
Does it work on an iPad or a phone?
Yes. It works in the browser on any laptop, tablet or phone, and there are apps for iPhone, iPad and Android. It is one account, so progress is the same wherever your child practises.
Do we still need books or a tutor?
That is your call. 11+ Daily does the part that is hardest to keep up: a little practice most days, already planned, with every answer explained, so nobody has to set the work or mark it. It sits well alongside a tutor, as the practice between sessions.
Do you cover the Gloucestershire FSCE test?
We have a version set up for it. 11+ For Gloucestershire FSCE is 11+ Daily set up for that test: English and Maths, practice for the Adventure and Beacon papers, with written answers as well as multiple choice, and Across the Curriculum, practice for the Compass paper. There is no Verbal or Non-Verbal Reasoning. The test is on Saturday 3 July 2027. After you sign up, set the exam board to FSCE Gloucestershire. It is not endorsed by FSCE or the schools.
Do I need a card, and can I cancel?
No card is needed for the 14-day trial. If you subscribe, you can cancel whenever you like, and cancelling stops the next payment.
